These are all the cartoons I've done for TQ Zine from issue 21 way back in March 2019 up to present. There are also notes with each one. I've left the three latest cartoons off so people don't get to see them before they receive their copy of TQ, but they'll be added as time progresses.

TQ22 + 23 - NEW ZEALAND

This double issue had a certain antipodean flavour to it, with several articles about Australian and new Zealand bands. I've always loved the NZ sound (Dead C, Surface of the Earth, Sandoz Lab Technicians etc.) so I decided to try and represent that unique music in a cartoon.

The sound of these bands seems to have evolved from their isolation, but also their determination to just do what they want despite the rules with whatever equipment came to hand. I thought that was what punk was meant to lead to, but instead it just made up new rules and stuck to those.

I particularly like the Kiwi and the Pukeko in the last panel.
