This was the first cartoon I ever drew for Andy Wood's TQ Zine. I'd been writing for TQ since the beginning, but I didn't realize he'd put the call out for a cartoonist, with no response. I must have missed it, because I certainly would have offered my services.
Anyway, Andy decided on a mail art version where a blank copy of the zine was sent in a chain around various contributors, the idea being that they wrote or drew a page and then sent it on to the next in line. Once it was full it would be published.
Unfortunately it got lost in transit and the project never came to fruition. Luckily, before sending it on, I saved a scan of my cartoon on the computer. It was drawn for David Howcroft who brought to my attention the phrase 'I will make a point of being pointless' first coined by the band The New Blockaders.
It was drawn completely freehand onto an A5 piece of paper, hence the wonkiness.
