TQ50 was a huge 104 page celebratory issue printed in full colour on glossy paper. Inside Andrew Spackman had written a story called Sad Man. It had a noir sensibility and I was asked to base an illustration on this.
Rather than a narrative strip, I isolated various quotes from the text and accompanied them with drawings. I enjoyed drawing the old Victorian library the most, with its ornate architecture and leaded windows.
